Later, I discovered the true story behind this seemingly innocuous structure – a permanent art installation by artists Elmgreen & Dragset, deliberately designed to look like a Prada store, situated in the middle of nowhere, in Valentine, Texas. This wasn't just a store; it was a statement. A commentary on the pervasive nature of branding, the allure of luxury goods, and the often-ironic relationship between art and commerce. It's a piece that invites contemplation and discussion, and that's what drew me to it beyond its aesthetic appeal.

It’s a deceptively simple structure: a small, seemingly abandoned Prada boutique, complete with a subtly distressed exterior, and stocked with (unsellable) merchandise. It’s a perfect example of the artists' ability to create something both visually striking and conceptually rich. Instead, I focused on capturing the essence of the installation: the iconic Prada logo and the overall aesthetic. I decided to create a wall sign, drawing inspiration from various online resources featuring Prada Marfa pictures and Prada Marfa prints. These online images provided a wealth of inspiration, showing the slightly faded, worn look of the original, which I aimed to replicate in my own version.
